UI/UX
Social media has opened the door to so much more than we thought possible. We thought it was perfectly harmless. There are problems with social media that have not yet been addressed and not all parents have the knowledge or tools to set boundaries for their children’s wellbeing. So is it possible to turn a smartphone into just a phone at a click of a button?

Project:
Curb-It Screen Time App
Semester:
Fall 2020
Objective:
Parents don’t always have a plan for how to manage their children’s screen time consumption. It’s even hard for some parents to set up limits and pass codes for apps on their children’s phones. Curb-It was created to give parents an easier time managing the addictive nature of smartphones both for themselves and their children. The smartphone is a powerful tool if you can learn to moderate its use.
Solution:
The app took on a more modular look to clearly separate the different information data and functions in the app. This was to minimize confusion for the parents and make the features easier to use. Scheduling, time limits, and the lock button, are all functions designed to give full control to parents based on their needs.
The main goal for the iconography and button style was to make the app more intuitive for parents to use and understand quickly.
