Package Design

Abu Garcia originally made watches, but because of World War I they switched to making fishing reels. The high quality nature of the Abu Garcia products is thanks to their attention to details and high standards. They should be effective, elegant and above all, high quality with precision.

Objective:
The goal was to create a system for reels and other accessories that would fit in with their current brand and ideals. Abu Garcia has done a decent job with giving some of their products a good design flare, but not all of them. This was a good opportunity to fill.

Solution:
Using photos of the reel was very important to elevate the quality and build. From there typography and color played
a huge role in making the system. I created a dynamic layout by utilizing large typography and each package was color coded to the fishing reel to add to its importance.
